The Witcher’s Final Two Seasons Just Expanded the Cast by 10

Netflix will bring The Witcher series to a close in season 5, and with filming completed on season 4, the show’s final season is now in production. While we wait for post-production to wrap and an actual release date for the much-anticipated season 4, we do have some new details to factor in thanks to a massive casting update. That update includes 10 new additions to the cast across seasons 4 and 5, so let’s jump in with season 4 to start.

The Witcher Season 4 New Additions

The new castings were revealed by Redanian Intelligence, and regarding season 4 specifically, the actors joining the series include Claire Cage (Casualty, Emmerdale), Melissa Collier (Blood of my Blood), Iwan Parry (Norse Game), and Benjamin Victor (The English). Cage will be playing the role of Stella Congreve, who is a Nilfgaardian countess looking after the false Ciri revealed in season 3.

Collier will play the role of Ingrid, though we don’t know much about the character yet. While Parry and Victor’s roles are unknown as of yet, Parry was at one point credited as a member of Yarpen’s crew, so that could be where we see him show up.

The Witcher Season 5’s New Additions

Moving on to Season 5, the new additions include Poppy Lee Friar (Eve, In My Skin), Ben Jones (Mobland), Tega Alexander (The Sandman), Jenny Bolt (Joan), Warren James Dunning (Wreck), and Adam Sina (Tyrant). Details are scarce regarding the season 5 castings, but there are some noteworthy elements that stand out.

While we don’t know who Friar is playing just yet, the report states that she’s involved in Toussaint filming alongside the Hansa, Toussaint nobility, and Fringilla. This means that there’s a chance she could actually be the Duchess of Toussaint herself, Anna Henrietta, and that would also likely mean that we’ll get to see some history between Henrietta and Jaskier play out during the show.

Henrietta is reunited with Jaskier during one of his adventures with Geralt, and while old feelings are rekindled, Jaskier ends up almost getting executed after he is found in another woman’s arms. Granted, he is spared, but it’s still pretty intense, and if the character does make her appearance here, we could see some of that story adapted for the show. The character also plays a big part in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Blood and Wine expansion, so the show has a lot to work with there.

That said, Friar could be playing someone else entirely, so we’ll just have to wait and see. We do know that Jones is playing the role of Arav, while Alexander is playing Captain Stade, and Bolt is playing the role of Monika. It’s now yet known who Sina or Dunning are playing, but hopefully more details will be released soon.

The Witcher season 4 is expected to hit later this year, while Season 5 will likely hit sometime in 2026.
