The Rock has announced that Vince Vaughn will be joining the cast of the upcoming film, Fighting With My Family, produced by WWE and The Rock’s production company. The movie will be based on the real life family of WWE Superstar, Paige.

He’s playing a man who I know all too well and those of you who follow wrestling history know well too. The 80’s wrestling star who squandered his money and opportunities because he didn’t have the capacity to handle his fame. One bad decision after another, but these days he owns his past actions and does everything he can to give back to the wrestling business he loves. Vince has been a buddy of mine for years and I’m fired up to see what he brings to this role. I grew up in and love this wild, crazy and unpredictable world of pro wrestling. When the news of the film first broke, fans learned Florence Pugh had been cast as Paige while Jack Lowden was brought on to play her brother Zak. Johnson then told fans that Game of Thrones star Lena Headey has signed onto the film alongside comedian Nick Frost. “Welcome the brilliant/bad ass [Lena] and the often mistaken as my twin [Nick] to our cast,” Johnson tweeted.

Fighting With My Familyis being scripted by Stephen Merchant who will also executive producer. Johnson’s production company will oversee the film as it teams up with Misher Films, WWE Studios, and Film4 to shoot the feature. The star will also be attached as an executive producer along with Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. Michael Luisi and Kevin Misher will produce as well.

Rock was inspired to make the film after seeing a documentary about the family called The Wrestlers: Fighting With My Family.
