For a generation, the phrase “are you ready” was associated with ring announcer Michael Buffer, but it was later used as the start of the entrance music of the legendary WWE faction, D-Generation X. The entrance music was the perfect embodiment of the, at the time, WWF’s Attitude Era. Raw, gritty, in your face and undeniably distinctive and set DX apart from the rest of the roster.

It was sung by the “DX Band” led by Chris Warren who passed away at the age of 49, Sunday. Warren also provided the vocals for Triple H’s first solo theme after his DX departure “My Time”.

Warren was also a steam fitter for a local New York radio station, his obituary read, and his funeral will be this weekend in his native Long Island.

His legacy has already been immortalized by “Break It Down” which is one of the best entrance themes of all time.
