Matt Hardy Responds To John Cena

Matt Hardy has had his hands full in his back and forth with Impact Wrestling, but that hasn’t stopped him from making the rounds to several promotions, including his newest home at Ring of Honor. Even so, he had another promotion on his mind yesterday, a promotion with a well-earned reputation.

That promotion was the vaunted Southpaw Reginal Wrestling, which made its return via a VHS tape. The promotion is at the center of a hilarious pro wrestling spoof crafted by WWE, with John Cena playing the part of announcer and former news anchor Lance Catamaran. If you haven’t watched it yet, well you should, but regardless Broken Matt Hardy wants in (via WrestlingInc). He posted a tweet in response to Cena saying “Is there Tag Team Gold for #HouseHardy to PROCURE in #SouthpawRegionalWrestling?” Honestly, if Southpaw Reginal Wrestling got a taste of Broken Matt Hardy, the world would literally probably combust. That said, it is interesting to think about right?

The hilarious spoof on 80s era, low-budget wrestling promotions features John Cena doing a Gordon Solie/Lance Russell impersonation as “Lance Catamaran”, a failed news anchor stuck in a fledgling wrestling promotion. You’ll also see Rusev as a Hillbilly Jim-type character (still with Russian accent), TJ Perkins as an uncharismatic old school territories champion, The Club in a heated redneck, Freebird-esque rivalry, Chris Jericho as a flamboyant backstage announcer, The Ascension as a Surfer tag team, and a wrestling sea monster.
