The news of a backstage brawl between Alberto Del Rio and luchador Tortuga Rafy has made the rounds over the last few days, but now Rafy is starting to give his side of the unfortunate encounter.

Rafy appeared on the En+Carados podcast to clear up some of the disputed facts of the incident, and LuchaWorld has translated the bigger parts of the conversation (via SEScoops).
Del Rio initially said the brawl started because of some inappropriate touching, but Rafy firmly disputes that. Fredo Esparza tweeted out the main parts of the translation, saying: “Tortuga Ninja Rafy said the mistake he made was that he said “pass by beautiful” to Paige when letting her pass him. Did not touch her.”
Tortuga Ninja Rafy said that the term he used was something a gentleman would say, but maybe its not used in this modern age.

Rafy says he didn’t mean anything by the comment, though he does regret using that phrasing. He also made sure to mention that Paige also told Del Rio he didn’t touch her, but Del Rio asked “Who are you calling beautiful?” and removed Rafy’s mask. At that point, Rafy ran down the hall and into the locker room, as there were onlookers and other members of the public in the hallway and he didn’t want his face to show.
He said by the end of the encounter Del Rio was calming down and started apologizing, with Rafy following suit. He also says the brawl itself was blown out of proportion, and that while he did get a few punches thrown his way, his face wasn’t torn up as previous reports declared. He said his friend who posted that information, AK-47, likely got bad information.

Even though everything has been resolved here, Del Rio and Paige have been involved in several of these odd incidents. Esparza sums it up well when he says ” Paige is good-looking & Alberto’s got a temper, so maybe for your safety don’t look/talk/open doors for Paige.”
