Shinsuke Nakamura has taken NXT by storm since debuting there and has quickly ascended to the top of the promotion. That doesn’t mean he’s content with just staying put, though, and turns out he already has a decent new spot in mind.

Nakamura’s former rival Samoa Joe recently made the jump to the main roster, and Nakamura has his way, he could quickly follow. While just debuting on the main roster would be fine, Nakamura actually has an opponent suggestion for WWE, and it means the master of strong style would be en route to the blue brand.

In an interview with Yahoo Japan (translation via Twitter), Nakamura threw out a fantastic suggestion. “If the (WrestleMania) opportunity presented itself, I want to do it. AJ doesn’t have an opponent yet, I’d like to fill that spot. I’ve achieved a lot this year, but there’s much more to do. I want to make more strides over the next year and show my true ability.”

Later in his interview, he also seemed to indicate he would like to be on the main roster before the company returns to Japan, but you can see the translation for yourself and draw your own conclusion.

As for a Nakamura vs Styles feud, there are few in the industry who would turn that down, and fans would love to see the two former New Japan Pro Wrestling stars back in the ring together. Styles is currently still involved the championship hunt along with John Cena and Bray Wyatt, while Shinsuke is locked in a feud with Bobby Roode on NXT. It remains to be seen when WWE will pull the trigger on Nakamura’s main roster call-up, but it will happen eventually. A battle against AJ Styles would certainly be a big way to kick off the next chapter of his career.
