WWE Superstar Served In Lawsuit

WWE superstars have had issues with the courts in years past, so but few are higher profile than the current lawsuit against former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. Granted, it’s not for something he did in a WWE match, but his heavily touted UFC return which WWE allowed him to participate in.

His opponent in that match Mark Hunt has since been quite livid that he lost the match, given that Lesnar was found to have illegal substances in his body at the time. While he was given a large fine and the win was rescinded, Hunt doesn’t think that’s enough. That’s why he filed a lawsuit against Lesnar back in January, but it turns out Lesnar has avoided being served officially (via MMAPayout and Jason Cruz). Lesnar is Canadian and had so far been unwilling to accept voluntarily as recent court documents show.

Hunt had to utilize the Hague Service Convention to proceed, which served Lesnar in Saskatchewan, Canada. The lawsuit is not only against Lesnar, but also the UFC and Dana White, as Hunt feels they colluded so that Lesnar could walk away the victor. A motion to dismiss is expected from the defendants, and it’s unknown if any sort of settlement will eventually happen. The UFC would just rather have all this go away, as WWE would also have a vested interest in any future staining of its star attraction.
