Del Rio was already in the middle of serving a 30-day suspension, but apparently had a lot of heat on him already from the company and wasn't looking to return. Del Rio announced a press conference yesterday concerning his future with the company, but it's likely WWE is making this announcement before hand, beating Del Rio to the punch.
This is Del Rio's second run with the company, but definitely his most lackluster with him only getting a brief run with the United States Championship. Although he did beat John Cena for the title, Del Rio lost his luster soon after joining the League of Nations and failed to capture the former glory of his early days as World Champion.
Del Rio's relationship with fellow Superstar Paige has been the center of controversy, which has reportedly put her career in the company in jeopardy as well.
