If you are a fan of Attack on Titan, then you better mark your calendars for April 1st. The date may have some thinking it is a joke, but the return of Hajime Isayama’s beloved anime is no laughing matter. The anime is set to debut its long-awaited second series in less than a month now, and details about the new season have been scarce. Last year, the first trailer for Attack on Titan‘s comeback dropped to all kinds of fanfare. And, now, a recent magazine feature on the anime has giving fans new stills from the anime.

In the most recent issue of Revo, Attack on Titan was featured in full force. The lengthy publication housed a two-page spread which delved into the anime’s new season. So, of course, a few exclusive stills from the anime were also included.

On the spread’s first page, fans will see three very familiar faces. In one of the inset images, readers can get a glimpse of Reiner and Bertolt. The friends are members of the Survey Corps and close friends to Annie who betrayed the group last season. The photo shows the two men looking rather stern as they stare out of frame.

As for the second image, Krista is featured front-and-center. The innocent-looking girl can be seen atop a horse with her hair falling loosely around her shoulders. Under the sun, Krista looks much older than she did from last season, and her character detailing has fans thinking Krista will play a bigger role in the new season. The assumption is a correct one, of course. Manga readers will know how Krista’s part in Attack on Titan grows during the ‘Clash of the Titans’ arc, and the anime is set to tackle that storyline come April.

The synopsis for Attack on Titan‘s new season can be read below:

“Eren Jaeger swore to wipe out every last Titan, but in a battle for his life he wound up becoming the thing he hates most. With his new powers, he fights for humanity’s freedom facing the monsters that threaten his home. After a bittersweet victory against the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest—a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues!”

If you are not familiar with Attack on Titan, then you should know the popular anime is renowned for its intense action and gritty storylines. The anime follows a boy named Eren Yeager in an alternate world overrun by massive creatures known as Titans. These mindless beasts have all but wiped out humanity, and mankind is left to cower in fear behind massive walls. When their sanctum is infiltrated by a slew of Titans, Eren and his friends Armin and Mikasa join the military to help eradicate the blood-thirty monsters. But, as they grow older, they learn that the beasts are not what they appear as long-held government conspiracies make themselves known.
