JK Simmons Reveals How Big Commissioner Gordon's Role in 'Justice League' Is

J.K. Simmons is bringing Commissioner Gordon to life in the upcoming Justice League film, but fans of Gotham's top lawman might want to keep their eyes open. Simmons has revealed just how big his role is in the film.

In an interview with Red Carpet News TV, Simmons indicated that while he is hopeful there will be more Justice League films in the future, Commissioner Gordon's role in the upcoming Justice League is just the briefest of introductions to the character. You can check out the interview above.

"Commissioner Gordon, my incarnation of Commissioner Gordon, in the first Justice League movie of what we hope will be a handful is a kind of don't blink or you'll miss it introduction of the character," Simmons said. "I didn't spend all that much time... we shot it here in London, which was great, it's always fun to be here, but I still haven't seen the finished thing put together."

Considering the reportedly extensive reshoots the Justice League underwent when Joss Whedon took over for Zack Snyder earlier this year, it's not a complete surprise that there might still need a few finishing touches on the film ahead of its release next month and Simmons also revealed that he's recently contributed more dialogue for the film as late as just a week ago.

"As a matter of fact, I was doing ADR last week, additional dialogue recording last week so they're still putting the finishing touches on it," he said. "But I'm, really, really excited to see it and to be a part of the DC Universe which is a little grittier."

Fans will get a chance to see Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon as well as the rest of the heroes when Justice League opens in theaters November 17, 2017.
