Disney Lorcana: Every Card Revealed for Rise of the Floodborn

Fang Crossbow
Fang Crossbow is a 3-cost Sapphire Item card. It has two different abilities – a debuff ability that costs 2 Ink but weakens a character by 2 Strength, and an effect that banishes the Fang Crossbow in exchange for banishing a Dragon character. Not only is this a great counter to Malificent – Monstrous Dragon, it'll likely be even more useful assuming that Sifu and other dragons are added to the next set.
Last Stand
Last Stand is a 2-cost Amber action card. This card lets players banish a character that was challenged that turn, which is a particularly potent ability given that Amber tends to be the ink type featuring the most summoned cards. Players can sacrifice a weak Amber card on a challenge to get rid of a particularly powerful character thanks to Last Stand, although you'll essentially be trading two cards and two ink in exchange for an opponent's single character.
Merlin - Rabbit
Merlin – Rabbit is a 3-cost Amethyst card with 2 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 1 Lore. Hoppity Hip! is a card draw ability that allows players to draw a card when Merlin is put into play and then again when it's removed from play. Notably, this card synergizes with Madam Mim – Fox, which can pull Merlin back to a player's hand so that players can use it to draw even more cards later in the game.
Madam Mim - Fox
Madam Mim – Fox is a 3-cost Amethyst card with 4 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 1 Lore. Madam Mim not only has Rush, which allows her to challenge on the turn she's played, she also has Chasing the Rabbit ability, which requires a player to either banish Madam Mim immediately from play or return another character to their hand. Madam Mim synergizes with the Merlin – Rabbit card also revealed this week, but she can also be used to protect a damaged character and allow them to be returned to play later in the game.
Beast - Relentless
Beast – Relentless is a 6-cost Emerald card with 4 Strength, 5 Willpower, and 2 Lore. The second Legendary card revealed for Emerald in Rise of the Floodborn, this card has an extremely powerful ability that allows it to be readied whenever an opposing character is damaged. This synergizes with countless card abilities and characters, and notably lacks the restrictions against questing that other characters with ready abilities have. This means that Beast – Relentless can potentially quest two or more times in a single turn, providing players with a way to close out games.
Mulan - Soldier in Training
Mulan – Soldier in Training is a 4-cost Ruby card with 4 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 1 Lore. It's notably an uninkable card and has Rush, which allows it to challenge on the turn its played. This Mulan card is clearly intended to be an offensive threat in the midgame, attacking opponent cards before they can be played.
Hypnotize
Hypnotize is a 3-cost Emerald card. This truly scary card forces all opponents to discard a card and also allows players to draw a card. This essentially gives Emerald decks a card draw ability, which are still relatively rare while simultaneously threatening opponents' hands.
Improvise
Improvise is a 1 cost Emerald Action card. It's a valuable card that provides a draw ability and grants a single character 1 Strength. Because it only allows players to draw a single card, it's more of a card swap than a true draw card, but it has some solid synergy with the previously revealed Minnie Mouse – Wide-Eyed Diver card.
Mouse Armor
Mouse Armor is a 2 Cost Steel item card. Mouse Armor grants one character the "Resist +1" keyword until the start of the next turn. This seems to be a solid item that provides a recurring benefit every single turn for the cost of just 2 Ink.
Bucky - Squirrel Squeak Tutor
Bucky – Squirrel Squeak Tutor is a 2 cost Emerald card with 1 Strength, 1 Willpower, and 1 Lore. Bucky is an absolute menace, with Ward and an ability that forces opponents to discard a card whenever Bucky's player puts a Floodborn into play. We've already seen two low-cost Floodborn characters so far, so this card could be the fulcrum for a discard-heavy deck that would be a real pain to deal with.
Robin Hood - Capable Fighter
Robin Hood – Capable Fighter is a 2-cost Steel card with 1 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 1 Lore. Its Skirmish ability lets Robin Hood deal 1 damage to a chosen character by being exerted. Not only does this let Robin Hood target readied characters, it also prevents Robin Hood from taking damage in a challenge.
Panic - Underworld Imp
Panic – Underworld Imp is a 3-cost Emerald card with 2 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 2 Lore. Notably, Panic seems to have some synergy with an unrevealed Pain card, potentially providing that card with some major strength for one turn. It's also a cheap 2 Lore card but is uninkable, which could limit its potential in decks. All in all, we'll need to wait to see Pain to get a good gauge on this card.
Minnie Mouse - Wide-Eyed Diver
Minnie Mouse – Wide-Eyed Diver is a 4-cost Ruby card with 2 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 1 Lore. This Minnie Mouse does a lot at once – it's a low-cost Floodborn card that only costs 2 Ink to play, it's an Evasive card, and it has an ability that causes Minnie to become a 3 Lore character whenever 2 actions are played in a single turn. That ability seems pretty situational, but might have some use with Song-focused decks.
Cogsworth - Grandfather Clock
Cogsworth – Grandfather Clock is a 5-cost Sapphire card with 2 Strength, 5 Willpower, and 2 Lore. Not only is this a Shift card that can be brought out on turn 3, it also has a powerful Unwind ability that gives all other characters Resist +1. Given that Cogsworth – Grandfather Clock also has Ward, which prevents it from being targeted, it's possible to get Cogsworth – Grandfather Clock out early and keep him play for a while to give your other cards a powerful buff.
Cogsworth - Talking Clock
Cogsworth – Talking Clock is a 2-cost Sapphire card with 2 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 1 Lore. Cogsworth has a powerful "Wait a Minute" ability that allows characters with Reckless to be exerted and gain 1 Lore instead. Reckless characters can't quest, so this provides them with a way to generate lore and also essentially cancels out the Reckless keyword, which can be placed on characters by certain cards.
Bounce
Bounce is a 2-cost Action card that allows a player to return a character to their hand and also forces an opponent to return a character to their hand. This is a versatile Action card with some great uses – it can pull a damaged card back to a player's hand, allowing them to re-play it without any damage. It can also clear a potentially tricky character from play, such as a Bodyguard character or a card with a strong ability. We'll also note that Bounce syncs up well with the already revealed Merlin – Shapeshifter card, which gains lore every time a character is returned to their player's hand.
The Prince - Never Gives Up
The Prince – Never Gives Up is a 3-cost Steel card with 1 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 2 Lore. This Prince (who appears to be the Prince from Snow White) is a great early game character who can collect 2 lore and then draw in opposing challenges to protect weaker cards. The Bodyguard/Resist combo will likely be a standard for Steel cards, with Bodyguard forcing opponents to target certain cards, while Resist +1 reduces damage and potentially keeps The Prince alive for a second round.
Flynn Rider - Confident Vagabond
Flynn Rider – Confident Vagabond is a 1-cost Emerald card with 1 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 1 Lore. This new Flynn Rider is a bit of a downgrade from The First Chapter's Flynn Rider – Charming Rogue, with no ability and only 1 Lore (albeit at a lower ink cost.) The big takeaway from this card is that a third Flynn Rider card could be coming in Rise of the Floodborn. The artwork of this card not only features the Flynn Rider card from the first set as one of the pictures on the tree, there's another Flynn Rider image as well showing hm repelling from a wall (or Rapunzel's tower.)
Tiana - Celebrating Princess
Tiana – Celebrating Princess is a 4-cost Steel card with 1 Strength, 4 Willpower, and 2 Lore. Another card with Resist, Tiana is interesting in that her ability only activates when a player has no cards in their hand. While topdecking isn't a good thing, Tiana at least means that a player can hinder opponents in some situations. She's also the perfect counter for the Belle – Hidden Archer card.
Cinderella - Stouthearted
Cinderella – Stouthearted is a 7-cost Steel card with 5 Strength, 5 Willpower, and 3 Lore. Not only can Cinderella shift onto other Cinderella cards with a lower cost, she's also the first card with the Resist keyword, which lowers the damage she takes every turn. More importantly, Cinderella's Singing Sword lets her target readied characters whenever a song is play, letting her attack characters that would usually be protected. We'll also note that she's the first character with the Knight classification, which could be the start of a new trend with this set.
Gaston - Intellectual Powerhouse
Gaston – Intellectual Powerhouse is a 6-cost Sapphire card with 4 Strength, 4 Willpower, and 3 Lore. Gaston not only can shift onto a low cost Gaston, it also has a valuable draw ability that is especially handy given Sapphire's ramp ability. Gaston – Intellectual Powerhouse is also a nifty contrast to the Gaston from the First Chapter, who had Rush and Reckless, meaning that he couldn't quest at all.
Dinner Bell
Dinner Bell is a 4-cost Ruby Item card. Dinner Bell allows a player to spend two ink to draw cards equal to the number of damage a chosen character has at the cost of banishing them. It's a way to wring a little bit of extra usefulness out of wounded cards, especially if they've already been used to challenge and banish an opponent's card.
Raya - Warrior of Kumandra
Raya – Warrior of Kumandra is a 4-cost Ruby card with 5 Strength, 3 Willpower and 1 Lore. Raya is basically a copy of Scar – Fiery Usurper, but with the Hero and Princess keywords. A solid mid-tier card, but she could have more uses if a princess deck becomes more viable with the new set.
Belle - Hidden Archer
Belle – Hidden Archer is a 5-cost Emerald card with 3 Strength, 3 Willpower and 3 Lore. Thorny Arrows is a nasty ability that forces an opposing player to discard all their cards whenever this Belle is challenged. This definitely makes Emerald/Sapphire decks a lot more feasible, especially as players can potentially get this card into play as early as turn 4 (or earlier if Rise of the Floodborn introduces a lower cost Belle. If this Belle can get put into play early, she can potentially control a match, forcing players to choose between letting her rack up a lot of Lore early or losing an entire hand of cards.
The Sorcerer's Spellbook
The Sorcerer's Spellbook is a 3-cost Amethyst Item card. Players can exert The Sorcerer's Spellbook and spend 1 ink to gain 1 lore, which is a good way of guaranteeing that no ink goes to waste every turn.
Winnie the Pooh - Hunny Wizard
Winnie the Pooh – Hunny Wizard is a 5-cost card with 5 Strength, 5 Willpower and 2 Lore. Although Winnie's debut in Disney Lorcana doesn't come with any major whistles, the art on this card is phenomenal.
Merlin - Shapeshifter
Merlin – Shapeshifter is a 4-cost Amethyst card with 1 Strength, 5 Willpower and 1 Lore. Merlin's Battle of Wit ability allows Merlin's lore count to grow higher when other characters are returned to Merlin's player's hand. A lot of this Merlin card's usefulness seems dependent on whether it can take advantage of cards like Mickey Mouse – Wayward Sorcerer or Dr. Facilier – Agent Provocateur, both of which return character cards to a player's hand when they are banished in a challenge. Provided that a card can pass through the discard pile and still be considered "from play," this card could help set up a pretty strong deck.
Elsa - Gloves Off
Elsa – Gloves Off is a 4-cost Amethyst card with 3 Strength, 4 Willpower and 1 Lore. Although Elsa – Gloves Off doesn't provide much on her own (there are plenty of other mid-range Challenger cards in Amethyst ), this card is a slight upgrade to the Elsa – Queen Regent card that appears in The First Chapter.
Zero to Hero
Zero to Hero is a fantastic Amber song card that once again syncs up nicely with the Ink archetype of trying to get as many characters out onto the board as possible. Zero to Hero works best when a player's board is already filled with characters, allowing them to play a high cost character for free, especially as songs can be played for no ink simply by exerting a character with the same cost or higher.
The Queen - Commanding Presence
The Queen – Commanding Presence is a 5-cost Amber card with 4 Strength, 3 Willpower, and 2 Lore. The first Floodborn character that receives a 3 Ink discount when Shifting. It'll be interesting to see if this set features receives a low cost The Queen card that potentially helps get this card out early, because that Shift ability coupled with her Who Is The Fairest is a potentially devastating 1-2 combo. With an 8 strength swing, "Who Is the Fairest" can either be used to banish a high strength card with a throwaway card or clear out a pesky character card without suffering any damage. Plus, The Queen's ability can be used every turn, making her a potentially foundational card in a deck. Commanding presence, indeed.
Mickey Mouse - Friendly Face
Mickey Mouse – Friendly Face is a 6-cost Amber Ink card with 1 Strength, 6 Willpower, and 3 Lore. Mickey's Glad You're Here ability is a perfect compliment to Amber decks, with the ability to reduce the cost of the next character a player puts into play whenever it quests. With 3 Lore, players will obviously want to quest with Mickey every turn to score Lore and simultaneously make it easier to get other characters in play. The one downside is that there's not a lot of downside to opponents focusing their attacks on Mickey, so players will likely want to pair this card with Bodyguards that can draw attacks to them and keep Mickey in play.
