Crossover games are a mainstay of the gaming industry. In just a few short days, the next installment in one of the most popular fighting game franchises will be announced at E3, Marvel vs. Capcom, which is itself a crossover series. Everything from Dynasty Warriors to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney has gotten a crossover at some point. It's practically required for a big franchise or series to create a crossover at some point. Now, thanks to the efforts of a programmer that goes only by "C me", you can enjoy the first major League of Legends crossover, as well.

Imagine the world where all of the League's champions, up to Camille, are Pokemon expies instead of valiant warriors duking it out on the rift. Now, you don't need to. Thanks to aforementioned programmer, who apparently hacked the entire Pokemon Emerald ROM on his own, you can now enjoy the creatively named Pokemon League of Legends, which is exactly what it sounds like. A Pokemon game with League of Legends champions.

Instead of journeying across the land of Kanto, Jhoto, or Unova, you instead journey across the lands of Valoran, and interact with many characters that are both familiar and unique. The basic structure of the game is the same as any classic Pokemon title. You train Pokemon in order to take down Gym Leaders and eventually fight off the evil criminal organization who, in this case, are Noxians. Yet, despite the banality of the premise, the game is very much a love letter to the League of Legends universe, as the lore of this game is completely built around the (admittedly sparse) lore that League of Legends has built up over the years, and not just the lore that Riot themselves has made. The Esports mythos that League of Legends has accrued over the years is on display as well, and many characters you interact with along the way will look...familiar to fans of the esports scene. According to the website, you'll even eventually get a chance to face Faker, though the WWG staff has yet to encounter him thus far.

If you want another way to kill time while you're in queue, give this Pokemon game a try. It's devilishly hard to install if you've never done something like it before, but it's well worth it.

WWG's Matt best was both thrilled and terrified by the new game. "Part of me wants to try this out and the other part of me knows that my productivity will go down to an all time low if I even attempt to install this," he said. "While the idea of Pokemon League of Legends is a cool one, truthfully, I was never a big Pokémon fan. However, incorporating League into it would make me one by default. This just seems like a never ending black hole or vortex that I would be sucked into. I'm not downloading this. (Totally downloading it as we speak)."
