The impending rework of the long-standing rune system in League of Legends was recently announced towards the end of May, and it's sizing up to be a big one. While there's still news coming out a bit at a time concerning what we can expect from the upcoming changes, we know that there are plenty of new Runes being added, and Riot Games wants players' opinions on which of the current Keystone Masteries they'd like to see be transitioned into runes.
News of the request for community feedback comes from the most recent installation of Meddler's Quick Gameplay Thoughts that was posted to the League of Legends boards on Thursday. The post touched on several different topics as usual, but the segment about the new Rune system made it clear that the players' thoughts would be taken into consideration as they continue moving forward with the addition of new runes that will carry much more power than they previously have.
"Our expectation is that we'll transfer at least a couple of existing masteries, with some modifications, into the new runes system," Meddler's post read. "We've got some in mind already that we've been testing, wanted to throw the question open to you folks as well though." The post went on to say that the goal behind the poll was to see "which of the current keystones you'd be most interested in seeing translated over," as well as the voters' thoughts on why their chosen Keystone Mastery should survive the transition.
Several readers have already begin pitching their arguments for their Keystone Masteries both in the post's comments and on Reddit. Many argued for why the often-used Thunderlord's Decree should remain in the game, but just as many argued against it, calling it boring due to it being purely additional damage that can be utilized by plenty of champions.
