League of Legends: Scheduled Yorick Improvements

One of the biggest complaints within League of Legends is the fact that some champions are left untouched. Often times you'll pick up a champion that you love. It doesn't matter how good or bad the champion is, you just love playing the champion at hand. You adopt this as your pocket pick or even your main. Unfortunately, there's a ton of champions out there and it gets difficult for Riot Games to keep making sure that they remain relevant.

The words 'relevant' and 'Yorick' aren't seen together unless a negative connotation is involved as well.

That all might be changing soon as Meddler, League of Legends Lead Gameplay Designer hinted at some Yorick changes coming soon!

"Mentioning these since they're harder to datamine," said Meddler. "We've got some useability/subtle feel good stuff going for Yorick in 7.10, with Mist Walkers no longer perishing if they're too far from Yorick, Yorick's Q spawning a grave even if there are 4 out already and replacing the last one (instead of just not spawning) and the Maiden benefiting from R rank ups even if she's already summoned. Balance wise we don't really have any room to buff Yorick significantly, we do want to give him a bit of love though, hence the focus on things that are more feel improvements than power."

By no means is Yorick going to turn into a powerhouse or join the meta in a big way, but this is a fine start. Riot specifically said, "more feel improvements than power." These changes won't automatically make Yorick a monster in the top lane or wherever you take him. They'll just make him feel more useful, something Yorick mains have longed for. Perhaps what is most interesting is that they said they don't have room to buff him significantly. Hopefully, that means they'll still buff him, just not make him overpowered. Yorick needs love too!
