There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a masterpiece. The world was huge, stunning, and made both new and old fans of the long-standing franchise anticipating even more adventures to come. Nintendo has previously touched on what the future holds for the latest open-world game, first detailing its next expansion at this year’s E3 back in June. Since then, however, news has been quite making fans wonder if it is still on the way or not.

According to new reports, it is! More than that, it’s still slated for this year. Nintendo of America president and all around lovable guy told Kotaku recently the expansion was still on track for its original release window.

Earlier this year there was a retail leak of the content that suggested a November 10th release date for new characters that are set to be highlighted in the future story. When asked if the new line of Amiibo release dates were any indication as to when the next expansion can be expected, he simply stated, “We will shortly be announcing the date of that content, so I would not lock and load on November 10th.”
Reggie was undoubtedly busy with the highly anticipated launch of the open-world Mario game: Super Mario Odyssey. That’s no the only exciting thing to be happening for Nintendo, however. GameCube controller support is also available now thanks to a recent update, as well as a new stellar light-up dock for the Switch itself thanks to a recent campaign.
