One of 2026’s biggest games is reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch 2. Right now, it’s unclear what Nintendo fans should really expect in 2026 with the Nintendo Switch 2, as Nintendo has not revealed its 2026 lineup yet. Meanwhile, many of the biggest third-party games releasing in 2026 have not been announced for Nintendo Switch 2. There are a few titles, like 007 First Light and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, but not much else of supreme consequence. That said, if a new report is true, then maybe some developers are just holding back Nintendo Switch 2 port information for an extra marketing pop down the line.

The new report comes the way of Dusk Golem, the biggest source when it comes to all things Resident Evil. On brand, the Capcom insider has claimed that the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem — aka Resident Evil 9 — is coming to Nintendo Switch 2. What isn’t clarified is whether or not the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be available at launch. For those that do not know, the next mainline Resident Evil game, and the first since 2021’s Resident Evil Village, is scheduled to release on February 27, 2026.
Probably Coming After Launch
While Dusk Golem does not provide any release information, the reason we probably haven’t heard about the Nintendo Switch 2 port is probably because it won’t be available at launch. As you may remember, Resident Evil Village did come to Nintendo Switch, but not until a year after its original release. It would not be surprising if Capcom repeated this approach, especially because it probably didn’t get Switch 2 developer kits until pretty far into development of Resident Evil Requiem.
All of that said, remember to take everything here with a grain of salt. The source in question is fairly reliable, but that doesn’t change the fact that nothing here is official, and it is all subject to change. A Nintendo Switch 2 port of Resident Evil Requiem isn’t the only Nintendo Switch 2 port to recently leak; one of the biggest RPGs of the last few years is also supposedly coming to Nintendo Switch 2 next year.
