PlayStation Insider Reveals When September 2025 State of Play Is Happening

A notable PlayStation insider has revealed when Sony’s next State of Play live stream will take place, and it’s quite soon. Given that PlayStation tends to hold a State of Play broadcast each September, fans have assumed that another such presentation will happen at some point before this month comes to a close. And while Sony itself hasn’t said a peep about when this event might be happening, it sounds like this silence won’t be lasting much longer.

In a recent post on social media, gaming insider Nate the Hate, who has had numerous accurate PlayStation scoops in the past, responded to an inquiry on when the next State of Play will be transpiring. Nate said definitively that the State of Play will happen “next week”, which doesn’t give us an exact date, but it does narrow the window down. In all likelihood, PlayStation won’t have this broadcast on a Monday or a Friday, which means that the State of Play should happen on either September 23rd, 24th, or 25th.

What Should PlayStation Fans Expect From This New State of Play?

Of course, even if there is a State of Play set to premiere next week, we still aren’t sure exactly what Sony will be showing off just yet. That being said, we can make some educated guesses given what is set to come to PS5 in the coming months.

For starters, we’ll likely get another look at Ghost of Yotei, which is now only a few weeks out from its October release date. Ghost of Yotei is poised to be the biggest exclusive coming to PS5 for the rest of 2025, so we’ll surely get one more glimpse of it in action.

Other than this, recent reports have indicated that Insomniac Games will show up with a new reveal for Marvel’s Wolverine. Announced all the way back in 2021, news on Marvel’s Wolverine has since been nowhere to be found. Luckily, it sounds like Insomniac is finally ready to talk about the project more openly and could also unveil its release date/window during the State of Play alongside new gameplay footage.

For now, we remain in the dark when it comes to this State of Play, but we’ll likely have official word from PlayStation on it relatively soon.
