Space Marine 2 Gets New Modes and Boss in Biggest Update Yet Alongside Major Sale

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 just received one of its biggest updates yet as a celebration of its first anniversary. This ambitious update brings new major content to the grim dark title, including brand new game modes that will satisfy both PvE and PvP players. Original game modes also see new additions, including a massive new boss to face in the Operations game mode. And, to top it off, fans can purchase the game at its lowest price ever for a limited time. This huge sale is perfect for those wanting to play Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, while veterans can enjoy the new free update.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is currently on sale through Fanatical at its lowest price of $29.69. This is only applicable to the Steam version, and both the Gold and Ultra Editions are on sale. These are $79.19 and $87.99, respectively. While the price is considerably higher than the Standard Edition, players will get the additional content for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

The free anniversary update adds loads of new content, but the most exciting additions are the two new game modes: Stratagems and Helbrute Onslaught. Strategems is a PvE mode that introduces daily and weekly gameplay modifiers, keeping even well-seasoned Space Marines on their toes. Meanwhile, Helbrute Onslaught is a PvP mode in which players can play as a Helbrute, the Chaos faction’s version of the Space Marines’ Dreadnaught.

Additionally, the Vortex Operation provides even more PvE excitement thanks to the new Mutalith Vortex Beast. Players will need to coordinate their efforts if they wish to defeat this powerful creature and complete their mission. But this isn’t the only new content in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s free update.

A new PvP map, Bridge, has been added. Three new weapons have also joined players’ arsenals, including the Pyreblaster, Pyrecannon, and Power Axe. New weapon variants are also available for even more carnage. The Chaos faction is expanded with a new Chaos Spawn enemy and six new Chaos Champion skins. Lastly, new quality-of-life and customization options have been implemented.

This update marks the beginning of Focus Entertainment’s Year Two plan for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: the roadmap has already been teased, and players can expect content such as the Techmarine class to come in the future. All of this will keep the game alive until Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 come out. Suffice to say, the Warhammer franchise (and fans) is well-supported.

On the sale front, other Warhammer 40,000 games are discounted as well. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a cooperative action game set in the same universe, but players control various characters rather than the iconic Space Marines. Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus and Warhammer 40,000: Gladius Relics of War are also on sale. These titles bring a slower and more strategic aspect to the Warhammer 40K universe.
