Fan Art Friday: The Delightful Artwork Of Ry Spirit

Things aren't exactly serene at the moment, and many are avoiding their computer screens at all costs to get away from all the negativity. That's part of the reason this week's Fan Art Friday looks to the talented Ry-Spirit for some delightful art that should do nothing but make you smile.

Ry-Spirit's pencils and colors are incredibly charming, with warm oranges, browns, and greens mixed with pint-sized versions of fan favorite franchises like Pokemon, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, and Yu-Gi-Oh. Three of those franchises are featured in his "Walk By" series, which also includes Yokai Watch, and features the leader followed by three adorable characters from the franchise of choice. While much of his art is colorful in nature, his style changes to suit the topic or character. His Lunch Time piece is drawn much different than his Sherlock piece, but both still have some base similarities that connect them.

Ry-Spirit is a big gaming fan, so it's no surprise that some of the best pieces are based on games Splatoon, Yooka Laylee, Undertale, Okami, and Crash Bandicoot. Even if your Friday has gone horribly, stare at that baby Okami or that Pikachu and Meowth go-kart and try not to smile.

As for Ry-Spirit, he started drawing rather young, and has a pretty humerous take on his progression as an artist. "I have been drawing since I was an ugly baby. It was always a hobby of mine, you can even see some of my old drawings here if you like here. I did attend a few drawing classes here and there that my parents paid for me to go. I'm sure I learnt a few things there that helped me become the wannabe artist that I am today, I also went to Graphic Design college and Animation University after, I wouldn't say they taught me much in terms of drawing.. but it did teach me things that I still use today, like how to layout or how to make something pretty or how to portray your idea etc etc bla bla bla."
