While she was on the wrong side in X-Men Apocalypse, fans were still quite receptive to actress Alexandra Shipp's take on the iconic X-Man Storm. With the rather open ended ending they were left with once the credits rolled, many are wondering if she will reprise the role in future X-Men films.
She might have given a hint at her continued involvement with the character on social media. Shipp posted a picture of Ororo Munroe on Twitter, with the caption "#mood". The character is in one of her white costume variations with short hair, as opposed to the more mohawk version Shipp played in Apocalypse.
Granted, this could just mean she's just feeling a bit "stormy" in an emotional sense, so take this with a grain of salt regarding any future involvement. Still, the response to the picture on Twitter makes it clear that Shipp's take on Storm was well received, and they'd like to see her back for another installment.
Shipp has previously expressed interest in appearing in the upcoming New Mutants film, saying “I can't say very much about New Mutants, but it would be awesome to do a little cameo, a little Where's Waldo?, Where's Ororo? in the background,” Shipp told IGN. “I love Storm as a character. I'd love to reprise her in many different movies and be able to show people different sides of her because she is so multidimensional and I think that the people who love Storm at least as much as I do, really want to see that. We want to see Storm killin' it and kickin' ass. That's the best thing about her, how amazing and powerful she is.”
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
X-Men: Apocalypse is on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital storefronts now.
