In anticipation of next week's San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios has unleashed a torrent of photographs and information for the Black Panther movie.
Thanks to EW, we now know more information about Ryan Coogler's new film including Chadwick Boseman's frame of mind as new T'Challa becomes King of Wakanda, why Killmonger teams up with Klaw, and the state of the country on the brink of turmoil.
But the spread also shines the spotlight on Black Panther's powerful bodyguards in the film, the peerless Dora Milaje.
Actors Danai Gurira and Florence Kasumba play Okoye and Ayo respectively, with The Walking Dead star serving as the leader of the group.
"They are a very powerful force," Gurira said. "They are not utopic, but what Wakanda has down well is it has allowed people to function within their strengths. These women, their strength is to preserve Wakanda. It's more like the secret service in a sense that it's not just military. She is head of intel."
That role can require a certain hardness or distance, but Gurira says her character is not cold or lacking compassion.
"She can be serious, but she also has an unexpected sense of humor," Gurira said. "She has a heart, but for her country and for her people. She's not a person who doesn't connect to human beings as a result of what she does."
We'll learn more about the Dora Milaje when Black Panther premieres in theaters on February 16, 2018.

Marvel's Black Panther will open in theaters on February 16, 2018.
