The fact that the green-skilled Destroyer could become so beloved alongside iconic characters like Iron Man and Spider-Man is a testament to the production company’s abilities to mine the comics catalogue for fresh ideas.
And now that Drax will be fighting alongside the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, the actor is preparing fans for even more characters to debut in the epic team-up film.
While speaking on the Talk Is Jericho podcast to promote Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the wrestler-turned-actor told the WWE star that the next film will introduce some new faces under the Marvel Studios banner.

Those are the prominent Avengers that have been in all the films, but they’re really just adding so many characters in this. ‘Cuz they’re also starting to introduce other characters like they did in Captain America [Civil War]. They’ve brought in Spider-Man. But they’re going to start moving into different phases of Marvel. So they’re introducing other characters. Black Panther. They’re gonna go a whole series of Black Panther.
While his comments seem to confirm a dedication to the King of Wakanda as a franchise, he also hints that we could see some other new charactersโmaybe even Captain Marvel herself?
Brie Larson has been rumored to be playing a role in the new Avengers film, though nothing has been confirmed. Her solo film is set to start filming just ahead of Infinity War‘s premiere. Could the character make her debut in the fight against Thanos before coming back around for her first big screen solo adventure?
We should learn more in the coming months as the production for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 continues.
