Marvel Studios may be going to great lengths, including not even giving the stars full scripts, to keep details about Avengers: Infinity War under wraps until the film comes out next May but that hasn't stopped Paul Bettany from opening up about his experiences on the set of the film.

Thanos' quest for the Infinity Stone bringing him to Earth causes the Avengers to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to stop the intergalactic despot. Bringing together the two teams makes for a massive cast of characters and Bettany told Collider that there were so many actor's trailers on set that it looked like its own town.

"It felt like the biggest movie that I've ever made and will ever make, and we've still got to make the [next] one. It's f**king crazy! I would come in, often at dawn because of the length of my makeup, and there would just be all of these twinkling lights. It looked like a town, but it wasn't. It was where all of the trailers were. It was just massive. It's massive! The call sheets are bananas. When you see the list of cast members, you're like, 'How is anybody else making a film in Hollywood this year? How are they getting films financed? Everybody is in this!'" Bettany said.

The actor, who plays the Ultron-created synthezoid Vision in the film, was equally as enthusiastic about the film's directors Joe and Anthony Russo and how the pair handled the huge cast and film, praising the directors for making the set "stress-free."

"Oh, f**k yeah! They are so great. They've got so much trust from the cast and from Kevin Feige and Marvel, in general. They're incredibly on top of the day when you show up and they're very open to your input and collaboration," Bettany said. "They were incredibly relaxed. It was a wonderful, relaxed set that was stress free. It was a stress-free set which was brilliant"

As for any details about the film itself, Bettany didn't share any spoilers. Audiences will just have to wait until the film hits theaters May 4, 2018.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
