Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2: The Best Lines From Trailer 3
One of the reasons that the Guardians of the Galaxy movie franchise has become the breakout hit [...]
"That's Intense"
Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon voice work has only gotten better in Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2, as he competes with Dave Bautista's Drax to have the most quotables in this latest trailer.
One of Rocket's strong suits is sarcastic understatement, which is clearly on display in this winking call-out to the audience when a giant space squid monster thing comes attacking.
Looks like Drax is having fun, though...

This moment with Rocket is pure James Gunn-style comedy. After insulting new villain Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) to her face, Rocket's attempt at wit falls flat on its face. Obviously the little guy needs more lessons on Earth-style sarcasm from Peter Quill...
prevnext"Put Your Seat Belt On!"
This line is already inspiring fan jokes about the Guardians' parenting skills, as cute little Baby Groot continues to steal the show!
While the line itself may seem mundane, the visual of Baby Groot sitting in a big chair with a seat belt that will never fit (eating candies no less!) makes this a great moment.

This is a line of meta-comedy that is pure gold.
First, it demonstrates that Rocket hasn't lost his edge as shady hustler; but with A-list star Bradley Cooper speaking the line, it also works as a delicious industry joke about what it would cost to bring the cast back for Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3, if vol. 2 is the smashing success we all know it will be.
...It may also reference the dump trunk of money required to bring James Gunn back for a third film.
prevnext"Sometimes, The Thing You're Searching For..."
This great moment takes every sappy dramatic "pause" scene in the action/adventure genre and totally skewers them.
Leave it to Guardians to pretend to get serious for a moment, only to reveal another visual gag as Peter Quill has no idea that Drax is standing there, listening to his sappy monologue.
prevnext"...We're Family"
This is a classic Marvel Cinematic Universe goose bumps moment: an epic shot of the entire Guardians team standing together.
...Of course, since this is Guardians of the Galaxy, nothing can be too serious, and we're left with another great Drax comedic moment, as he slams Nebula for being the odd alien out in the group.
