Guardians Of The Galaxy news has been flooding the Internet this week, following the film's screening and red carpet event. Most of the conversation has revolved around cameos, Easter Eggs, and Baby Groot, but there was one potential appearance that has risen above the rest.
Fans believed that Nathan Fillion would appear in Vol. 2 as Wonder Man, but director James Gunn has set the record straight.
Fillion posted a picture online yesterday, showing himself in a barbaric costume, piloting a ship from the film. He stated that this was his scene that was cut from the movie. The costume matched up with some photos that had surfaced from the set, showing movie posters at a theater. These posters all featured movies starring Simon Williams, AKA Wonder Man, and the Arkon poster featured the same costume that Fillion was wearing in his post.
Everyone took this information to mean Fillion was playing Wonder Man, and that he filmed full scenes as the character.
Gunn said the record straight on Twitter though, stating that the only cameo Fillion was making in the film was on the posters themselves. The scene featuring the movie theater didn't make the final cut of the film, leading to Fillion's statement.
He did however, tease that Fillion could appear as Wonder Man in future films. After being asked on Twitter, the director left the option very open.
