After protecting the cosmos earlier this summer, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 just soared away with two Teen Choice Awards!

The film won the award for Choice Sci-Fi Movie, while Star-Lord himself, Chris Pratt, was on hand to accept the Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor award. During his speech, Pratt thanked the franchise’s “writer, director, and auteur” James Gunn.
In total, Vol. 2 was nominated for six surfboards at tonight’s Teen Choice Awards. Pratt and his co-star Zoe Saldana were nominated for Choice Movie Ship for their roles as Star-Lord and Gamora, while Saldana was up for Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actress. Pratt’s onscreen father, Kurt Russell, was nominated for Choice Hissy Fit, while fan-favorite Michael Rooker was up for Choice Scene Stealer.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hit Digital HD this Tuesday, August 8th, and will be releasing on DVD and Blu-ray on August 22nd.
