"Will we see any other superheroes in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 from Avengers? NO! You will not."

That's a direct quote from writer/director James Gunn, not 48 hours old. Yet when the director, an avid Marvel fan who is currently directing his second Marvel Studios movie and therefore has access to, and gets to goof around with, some of Marvel's other, non- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 props goes for a fun photo (having been on a few Marvel Studios sets, they often have props and costumes from other films around), many other outlets react as if it was a tease of some kind. Even though Gunn himself directly said "No," other sites are reaching. We're not taking the bait, James. Nice try.

Instead, here's a really fun picture of James Gunn with Mjolnir, Thor's hammer, which he captioned "Getting ready to hang a painting." It proves only one thing: he's worthy! Indeed, that's something fans who universally loved the first Guardians movie already knew. It seems shocking to the poor crew guy who got caught in the background of the picture, though.

Gunn, in direct response to this article, said directly to Comicbook.com, "My statements I've made a hundred times are still accurate."

If other sites need a story, he did hint in that video a couple of days ago that Guardians Vol. 2 could be making an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con this year.

"Am I going to San Diego Comic-Con? That's a good question! We'll have to see! I'd like to. I'd like to come to San Diego Comic-Con and bring some friends along. That would be awful fun," Gunn teased. That's what a tease is.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 has about two weeks left of principal photography as it prepares for a May 5, 2017 release. It has no Avengers in it.
