When Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters next year, the teenage vigilante will do with with Tom Holland at his side. The British actor was cast to play Peter Parker, and fans have had nothing but praise for his work. Spider-Man: Homecoming will follow shortly after the event of Captain America: Civil War, and its trailer showed that Tony Stark will feature throughout the film.
So, naturally, some keen fans are wondering just how Iron Man will contribute to Spider-Man’s vigilantism. Now, Holland is nodding to how the Avengers has canonically helped out his beloved character, and he even donned a familiar mask to do so.
Not long ago, Holland took to Instagram to share a few fun videos with a story. While the updates have since disappeared, fans managed to save the footage which shows Holland wearing an Iron Spider mask.
If you are not familiar with Iron Spider, then you should know the item is a powerful suit created for Spider-Man by Iron Man. The hi-tech exoskeleton was designed by Joe Quesada, and it gives Spider-Man some seriously upgrades. The Iron Spider comes with additional spider-arms and sensors which help him during combat.
Of course, some fans are wondering whether Holland donned the mask with ulterior motives, but it does not seem likely. The Instagram update looks like it was taken in festive fun, and Holland deserves a little break this holiday season after a busy year.
