In less than two weeks, fans all over the country will be able to watch Doctor Strange when it finally hits theaters. The film has got moviegoers of all ages excited, and Stan Lee recently celebrate Doctor Strange's release with some of his youngest fans. The legendary comic creator surprised a theater of young fans before a screening of Doctor Strange at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre.
Dressed in khaki slacks and a yellow sweat, Lee looked as energetic as ever as he greeted dozens of children. The writer also donned his infamous glasses and Doctor Strange's own Clock of Levitation to get moviegoers excited. He went on to take pictures with all the fans who came dressed in their own capes and costumes.
Honestly, there were more Doctor Stranges at this movie screening than in the whole Marvel multiverse. Other heroes also made an appearance as Captain America and even the Hulk stopped by for a photo opportunity.
During the screening, fans were able to see Lee reappear but on the big screen this time. The comics icon is known for cameoing throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Doctor Strange is no exception to the rule. These children were able to see Lee's cameo in the film, and other fans got to check out his appearance during a recent IMAX sneak-peak of Doctor Strange.
ComicBook.com's Lucas Siegel was lucky enough to attend the preview and had this to say about the cameo:
"In what looks like one of the most epic foot chases in cinematic history, Doctor Strange and Mordo are running down streets, up building sides, and across the sky as the world warps around them. After Kaecilius bends the building on which Mordo and Strange are running, they fall to the ground and into the side of a bus. As they fall, the camera angle switches to a point of view from inside the bus, revealing Stan Lee reading Aldous Huxley's The Doors of Perception."
From Marvel comes DOCTOR STRANGE, the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange – armed with newly acquired magical powers – is forced to choose whether to return to his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence. Join Strange on his dangerous, mystifying, and totally mind-bending journey.
The cast features Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Into Darkness, The Imitation Game), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Rachel McAdams (Sherlock Holmes), Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man), Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) and Tilda Swinton (The Grand Budapest Hotel).
