James Gunn Teases Sylvester Stallone's Marvel Movie Future
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has a lot of fun character and actor cameo reveals, and one of the biggest and best is no doubt Rocky star Sylvester Stallone.
It's not a spoiler to say that in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Stallone plays Stakar Ogord, a leader of The Ravagers who has a crucial bit of history with Michael Rooker's Yondu. Marvel Comics fans saw that casting and character and instantly knew that Stallone was playing the Marvel Comics superhero known as Starhawk.
...And, apparently, Starhawk will have a bigger future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Stallone's Future in the MCU
Speaking with the Toronto Sun, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn revealed that there are ongoing talks within Marvel regarding Stallone's future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spoiler alert: He has one.
"My plan is to see more of him," said James Gunn. "I'm not sure about him appearing in Vol. 3, we'll have to see about that, but it's our plan to see more of Stallone. (Marvel studio boss) Kevin (Feige) and I are working on what is going to become of the Marvel Cosmic Universe and where it's going to go. We plan to see [SPOILER] in the future."
We won't reveal who else Gunn is referring to in that quote; as stated, there are a lot of fun cameo appearances in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - some of them teasing some very exciting things to come in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens in the domestic market this Friday.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither).
