When it comes to tattoos, Hollywood stars have found ways to get inked without ruining future job opportunities. Some actors like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson have turned their tattoos into full-on selling points. However, for Marvel’s Spider-Man star, Tom Holland dug deep to hide his recently revealed comic tattoo.
This weekend, Holland has been busy in New York doing press rounds for Spider-Man: Homecoming ahead of its release. It was during one of the actor’s interviews that he confessed he actually got a Spider-Man tattoo, and Holland proved he was inked on his foot. Whipping off his shoes on-camera, Holland lifted the sole of his right foot up for fans to show off his tiny Spider-Man tattoo.
“It hurt so much,” Holland admitted after he showed off his ink. “It was an amazing experience. I got it done here in New York by an amazing artist at a studio called Bang Bang Studio, and he’s one of the nicest guys. I always wanted to get that Spider-Man symbol on the bottom of my foot but I never thought I would ever get it done. The opportunity came about, and he was like, ‘Yeah, we can do that,’ and I had it done. It was an amazing experience.”
“I actually had to get it done three times though because on the bottom of your foot, [the tattoo] fades away. The third time, he really sort of had to drive it hard,” Holland continued.
If you are not familiar with Bang Bang Studios, then you should know the parlor is a haven for celebrity tattoo seekers. Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy has inked dozens of celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and more. As for Holland’s tattoo, the actor was brave enough to ink the sole of his foot. Not only do tattoos on palms and soles wear down very easily but they are also considered to be one of the body’s most painful tattooing locations.
Hopefully, the actor won’t need to do a touch-up on the piece for awhile. It can wait until Avengers 4 finishes filming, right?
You can find the official synopsis for Homecoming below, which has a 4.13 out of 5 on ComicBook.com's anticipation rankings.
