After a lot of anticipation, fans finally have their first look at Tom Hardy in Sony's Venom solo film.

The photo provided a rather simple look at Hardy's version of Eddie Brock, with him standing in plain clothes and holding some sort of book. After some inspection, the photo revealed a pretty big hint at what to expect for the film. But for those who were expecting the "first look" to be of Hardy in the Venom suit, the photo might have been seen as a little underwhelming.

As you would expect, fans have had quite a response to the photo, and have been expressing their emotions online. Some are excited about the upcoming solo venture, while others are making pretty great comparisons to Spider-Man 3's version of Eddie Brock.
