The new image shows a picture of actor Richard E Grant in black and white with the caption “Rice. Logan. 3.3.17” Zander Rice is the son of Dale Rice, who was part of the original Weapon X project that created Wolverine. Zander as young when his Father died, but later on he worked with Dr. Kinney on creating a clone of the original Weapon X.
They happened to disagree on a variety of topics, including the clone’s gender, but he ultimately delivered X-23 into the world. It looks like Grant will be playing Zander Rice in Logan, and is responsible for the task force hunting X-23 down in the trailers.

X-23 is played by Dafne Keane, who director James Mangold has said is capable of stealing the film.
“If anyone could steal a movie from Hugh Jackman, it would be Dafne. She carries, all the time, a slight strangeness. I could never have gotten this done without Hugh. You’re going to see him doing some of the best work I’ve ever seen him do.”
Logan takes place in the year 2024, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutant kind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan’s vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn’t seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn’t over yet.
Logan stars Hugh Jackman (Logan), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Dafne Keen (Laura Kinney/X-23), Doris Morgado (Maria), Stephen Merchant (Caliban), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Gabriela), and Richard E. Grant (Dr. Zander Rice). James Mangold is directing and helped on the screenplay along with Scott Frank and Michael Green.
