The film was officially given the R-rating for “Sci-fi violence, bloody images, language and some sexuality/nudity.” This is cause for rejoice, because that sounds EXACTLY like an Alien movie. It turns out Ridley Scott wasn’t lying when he said Covenant would be much more like Aliens than Prometheus.
A24’s upcoming horror film It Comes At Night has also received an R-rating. The Joel Edgerton flick has rated R for “violence, disturbing images and language.” The film comes from the studio that has produced recent hits like Moonlight, The Green Room, and The Witch. Check out the trailer for It Comes At Night here.
Be on the lookout for more Alien news throughout the day, as April 26 has been set aside to celebrate all things Ripley-related.
