Netflix has a pretty massive back catalog, which is great news for fans. However, that catalog makes it far too easy to lose track of newer additions, despite our best intentions. It doesnโt help that Netflix sometimes releases a show with relatively little fanfare. Weโve all seen it happen; accidentally stumbling across an anticipated series, only to find out that it somehow released months ago. Whatever the reason, these shows may have slipped through the cracks, but thereโs nothing stopping us from sitting down and binge-watching them now. When it comes to more recent Netflix releases, thereโs still time to positively impact their metrics, increasing the odds of more like this.

The rapid production pace already makes it challenging to keep up with new and worthwhile shows, but algorithms can exacerbate this challenge. Changes to the streaming platform have made it a bit more challenging for some viewers to find or track what they enjoy, and thatโs frustrating. Our best way to counter these problems is to talk about what we love, share recommendations, and allow word of mouth to pick up the pieces.
7) Running Point (February 27, 2025)

Episode Count: 10. Who doesnโt love a good sports comedy? What about a sports comedy full of familiar faces? Running Point stars Kate Hudson, Drew Trver, Scott MacArthur, Brenda Song, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, and Toby Sandeman. Running Point is the perfect series for those looking for sports, comedy, drama, family dynamics, and exploration of gender roles and expectations.
Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) has always taken the second seat in her family, having been born a woman. When her brother is forced to step back as President of the Los Angeles Waves basketball team, Isla knows it is her time to shine. However, Isla is going to have to do more than call dibs on the position, as her three brothers will be chomping at the bit to prove she doesnโt have what it takes to thrive in this world. So sheโs just going to have to prove them all wrong.
Running Point first premiered on Netflix in February 2025, and itโs safe to say that the series has not been getting nearly as much ink as it deserves. Thankfully, Running Point has already been renewed for a second season, so thereโs more to look forward to.
6) Too Much (July 10, 2025)

Episode Count: 10. Those looking for a romantic comedy may appreciate Too Much. The series was just released in July 2025 and stars Megan Stalte and Will Sharpe. As a series, it finds that perfect balance between romantic and sweet. Too Much is a self-reflective comedy full of romantic misadventures, quirky characters, and the craving for something new and fresh.
The story begins with Jessica, who has just experienced a traumatic break-up. Sheโs going to do the traditional dramatic break-up thing and take a job in London, relocating from New York City. A big move means relationship drama and romance are just around the corner.
Enter Felix, the musician Jessica just so happens to see performing in a small pub in London. Sparks fly once the two finally have an excuse to meet and chat, allowing for plenty of drama and self-aware humor to rise to the surface. As the name implies, Too Much doesnโt shy away from the emotional intensity of ending and beginning relationships.
5) Under A Dark Sun (July 9, 2025)

Episode Count: 6. Under A Dark Sun is a limited series, so itโs perfect for anybody looking for a slightly shorter series. Itโs a crime drama starring Isabelle Adjani, Ava Baya, and Guillaume Gouix. Notably, Under A Dark Sun got a bit of ink when it first dropped in July 2025, but it quickly got shunted to the back as new series popped up.
The story follows Alba, a woman who finds herself in the center of a murder investigation following the suspicious death of one of her employees. That would have been problematic enough, but then the truth about this employee comes out; heโs Albaโs father. Even Alba didnโt know the truth, not that this will protect her from the inevitable scrutiny sheโll face.
Under A Dark Sun is an emotionally charged mystery with layers, secrets, betrayal, and more. While it may only be six episodes long, viewers can rest assured that theyโll be invested right up through to the end. Under A Dark Sun is perfect for mystery fans who want a dash of family drama to keep things personal.
4) The ร re Murders (February 5, 2025)

Episode Count: 5. The ร re Murders (ร remorden) is a Nordic noir based on Viveca Stenโs novels, Hidden in Snow and Hidden in the Shadows. Itโs a limited series revolving around Hanna Ahlander, a detective trying to have a peaceful vacation in ร re. We can all guess how well that goes. Starring Carla Sehn and Kardo Razzazi, The ร re Murders transports viewers to a deadly resort in Sweden.
The first three episodes revolve around Hidden in Show, forcing Hanna to dig into a missing person case. Her hesitation lies not in the case itself, but in her partner, local cop Daniel Lindskog. Their investigation turns up a whole lot more than anticipated. The latter two episodes cover the next book in the series, Hidden in Shadows. It begins with a sudden death, which forces the duo back together as they dig into this surprisingly gruesome family drama.
The ร re Murders is the perfect show for Nordic noir fans. Itโs heavy on the psychological tension, complete with moody atmosphere and isolated (and cold) settings. Since there are two other books in the novel series, thereโs potential for more of The ร re Murders. That said, Netflix has not currently made anything official.
3) North of North (April 29, 2025)

Episode Count: 8. North of North is a Canadian comedy series set in a fictional community known as Ice Cove. It stars Anna Lambe, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Tanya Tagaq, Keira Cooper, Maika Harper, and many others. While there are currently only eight episodes to binge-watch, Netflix has officially renewed the series for a second season.
Ice Cove is the type of small town where everyone knows everyoneโs business. Naturally, that makes it pretty hard for Siaja to hide the end of her marriage to a beloved townie, Ting. Now a newly single mother, Siaja moves back in with her own mother and begins to explore new job opportunities, hoping to find herself and her place in the process.
North of North balances comedy with something deeper and more human, as Siaja rediscovers who she is in the face of her very public break-up. It does all of this while exploring cultural expectations and our place in the world. If youโre looking for a human series to connect with, North of North is it.
2) Trigger (July 25, 2025)

Episode Count: 10. If action and thrillers are more your style, thereโs always Trigger. Trigger is one of the latest additions to Netflixโs K-Content slate, diving into a high-stakes thriller setting complete with criminal elements, firearms, and more. Trigger stars Kim Nam-gil, Kim Young-kwang, Park Hoon, and many others.
It all begins with a sudden influx of weapons making their way into South Korea, which is famous for its gun-free policies. At the forefront of this story are two men, both on very different walks of life. Lee Do (Kim Nam-gil) is the police officer responsible for investigating this sudden influx. Meanwhile, Moon Baek (Kim Young-kwang) is the dangerous arms dealer behind it all. Naturally, their confrontation will feel brutally inevitable at times.
Trigger is a heavy-hitting series that explores some admittedly tense subjects, including unregulated gun use. Itโs thought-provoking and violent in equal measures. The series also explores societal stress, frustration, socioeconomic pressures, and mental health concerns, creating a well-rounded and shockingly human action thriller.
1) Sirens (May 22, 2025)

Episode Count: 5. Last, but certainly not least, is Netflixโs limited dark comedy series, Sirens. This series also has a lot of familiar faces; Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, Glenn Howerton, Bill Camp, Felix Solis, Kevin Bacon, and Julianne Moore all star in the show. Sirens is based on Molly Smith Metzlerโs play, Elemeno Pea.
The entire five episodes of Sirens take place over one weekend, revolving around Devon and her estranged sister, Simone. Along for the ride is Simoneโs employer, Micheala โKikiโ Kell. Looking at the situation from the outside, Devon is convinced that her sister is being pulled into a cult-like situation. This perspective doesnโt prevent Devon from also being pulled into the fray, albeit for very different reasons.
Sirens takes an unabashed look at toxic female relationships, class disparity, trauma, agency, and sisterhood. Itโs deeply satiric and full of dark humor, allowing the series to explore these concepts without feeling too direct. Sirens is perfect for viewers looking for something witty, tense, and involved, as it delivers on all fronts. That said, Sirens is a limited series, so be prepared to say goodbye after the fifth episode concludes.
