Riverdale returned for its second season tonight and The CW drama wasted no time kicking off a major mystery.
With a shocking death in the final moments of tonight's premiere Archie (KJ Apa) and his friends are left to wonder if someone is targeting him and in next week's episode "Nighthawks" that concern appears to have everyone edge wondering just who The Man in The Black Hood is and what he wants.
But the masked killer on the loose isn't the only thing Archie and his friends have to deal with. Veronica's (Camila Mendes) dad Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos) is back and it looks like he wastes no time getting involved in things -- especially when it comes to trying to make things go back to the way they were. Check out the preview below.
In the preview it also looks like the episode will see a return of the "old school" vintage Riverdale aesthetic, similar to an episode in the first season where, in a dream sequence, the characters closely resembled the classic Archie Comics versions of themselves. Cole Sprouse (Jughead Jones) said in a set visit last year that Jughead has an obsession with Riverdale's past, though it's not clear if this vintage look is part of Jughead's dreams or something else.
Fans will just have to tune into Riverdale next week to find out.
