Solar Opposites Readies for the End With New Final Season Trailer

It’s the end of an era as Solar Opposites readies for the end with a new trailer for its final season coming to Hulu. Solar Opposites first made its debut with the streaming service back in 2020, and drew a lot of comparisons to Rick and Morty early on as it involved one of its creators (who has since been fired from the series due to controversy). But it was clear after watching the series that it was going to be very different from that as it explored its own kind of wacky science fiction world in its own fun and unique ways.

Solar Opposites will be officially coming to an end with the release of its sixth and final season with Hulu this October, and a new trailer and poster revealed for the new episodes tease that the animated series is going to go out on a high. Not only do the Solar Opposites themselves seem to be taking on some big world ending enemies, but there’s also the promise of its various other stories coming to an end as well with its The Wall and Silver Cops side plots developing in the background. You can check it out in action below.

What to Know for Solar Opposites Season 6

Solar Opposites Season 6 will be premiering all of its episodes with Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on October 13th. The main voice cast will be returning for the final season with Dan Stevens as Korvo, Thomas Middleditch as Terry, Sean Giambrone as Yumyulack, and Mary Mack as Jesse. Guest stars for the final season include Tiffany Haddish, Kieran Culkin, Christina Hendricks, Ken Marino, Alfred Molina, Natalie Morales, Jerry Oโ€™Connell, and Beck Bennett. Some of which are actually very important for the ongoing Wall and Silver Cops stories.

As for what’s coming in the final season, Hulu teases Solar Opposites Season 6 as such, “Once their alien diamond making machine gets destroyed, theย Solar Oppositesย must face their greatest challenge yet: living their expensive lives on a budget! When their consumerist habits and expensive hobbies are gone, only their true selves will remain…but will they like who they find? ALSO: The epic story of the people of The Wall has all built to this thrilling and shocking conclusionโ€ฆ”

Why Solar Opposites Is Ending

Speaking to ComicBook during San Diego Comic-Con 2025 earlier this year, series co-creator Mike McMahan revealed that the animated series had been canceled with Hulu rather than the Solar Opposites team deciding to end it themselves, “We woke up one day and we said to ourselves, โ€˜Weโ€™ve been cancelled forcefully by the network, so we should probably make this the last season.โ€™” Continuing further, McMahan explained, โ€œWe could keep doing it but since nobody will be paying us to do it, it would be pretty rudimentary. The artists need to eat and have medicine.โ€

But while Solar Opposites has been cancelled, thankfully the creative team knew that fact coming into it as they were able to wrap up its many storylines, “We knew this was going to be our final season going into it, but we think of it as like the end of our first chapter or something like that,โ€ McMahan stated. “So you get a lot of cool culmination of long running jokes, storylines The Wall, Silver Cops, and itโ€™s all in.”
