Wednesday Addams is as obsessed with death and mayhem as the rest of her family. Naturally, this means that there has been a whole lot of both in her series, especially in Wednesday Season 2. The Netflix series brought the titular character back to Nevermore Academy and then handed her a brand-new mystery to solve. In cracking open the mystery, she put friends and family in danger, as that is apparently a recurring theme with this character. Season 2 introduces new dynamics, friends, threats, and deaths. While some of these deaths were expected from the start, others managed to surprise us all.

Wednesday Season 2 begins with a quest to find a serial killer, but it quickly evolves into something else once Wednesday is back at school. She has a new stalker, thereโs a new killer on the loose, plus the ever-present threat of Tyler. This is just the beginning, as there are many forces moving behind the scenes at Nevermore Academy. This school is quickly racking up quite the body count. It makes us wonder what Wednesday Season 3 will bring to the table.
Warning: This article contains spoilers for Wednesday Season 2, including the finale.
11) Augustus Stonehurst

It goes without saying that some of the least surprising deaths that occurred in Wednesday Season 2 involved newly introduced characters. Take Augustus Stonehurst, who was once a teacher of Nevermore. More importantly, he founded the LOIS program, which was meant to steal Outcast powers and grant them to Normies.
Itโs pretty messed up, to say the least. Thereโs a lot we could say about him, but letโs just leave it at this: Augustus Stonehurst got exactly what was coming to him. The zombie known as Slurp got his hands on Augustus and did what zombies do best. This death not only kicks off a series of events, but also tells viewers that everything happening is connected.
10) Ron Kruger

Speaking of newly introduced characters, thereโs Ron Kruger. Ron Kruger is a classic cadet stereotype. Heโs the leader of a group of cadets, and he openly and aggressively challenges the Outcasts. It begins as a fair fight, but when his crew is defeated, he proves to be a sore loser.
The moment Ron Kruger decided to attack the Nevermore Academy students in the night, we all knew he was dead. At best, a student would panic and kill him in self-defense. At worst, well, thatโs actually what happened. Ron Kruger made the mistake of entering the tent harboring a zombie and met his end accordingly. On the bright side, his cadets lived.
9) Dr. Rachel Fairburn

Dr. Rachel Fairburn is a new character in Wednesday Season 2, so her death is naturally less shocking. Sheโs a psychologist who specializes in Outcast behavior, but she herself is a Normie. Interpret that how you will, Dr. Rachel Fairburn played a bold game and lost.
She took the risk of putting both Tyler and Laurel Gates in the same building, hoping it would help Tylerโs treatment (putting an abuser in range of her victim should never be an option), though ironically, that isnโt what leads to her death.
It all comes back to the Addams Family. Fester and Wednesday Addams had infiltrated Willow Hill, releasing all the inmates (even the prisoners down below). Meanwhile, Pugsley had resurrected a corpse, and the zombie had likewise been imprisoned in Willow Hill. You can probably guess how this story goes, with the zombie, Slurp, getting his hands on Dr. Rachel Fairburnโs brain.
8) Judi Spannagel

Viewers who already binged all of Wednesday know that Judi Spannagel is actually Judy Stonehearst. Yes, sheโs the daughter of Augustus Stonehearst. Once that big reveal came out, it felt like only a matter of time before she met her end. After all, sheโs running around with a stolen Outcast ability.
Judi was once a Normie, before her father stole an avianโs power for her. If youโre wondering if sheโs the crow serial killer, you got it in one. Interestingly, Judi does not meet her fate at the hands of Wednesday, but she does face justice from an Outcast.
Somehow, Judi survives the events of the Willow Hill outbreak. She even lives long enough to make a statement and threaten Wednesday. However, she doesnโt get a whole lot more time than that, as Slurp (who truly goes by another name) catches up with her. Itโs hard to feel bad or surprised about this ending.
7) Professor Orloff

Professor Orloff is a delightful character, if only because heโs portrayed by Christopher Lloyd. Itโs hard not to be excited about seeing him grace Wednesdayโs set. Heโs one of several new characters in Wednesday Season 2, taking on the position of biology teacher at Nevermore Academy.
Truthfully, several positions at Nevermore are starting to look cursed, including this one. Professor Orloffโs death is somewhat more surprising than most, if only because a witness is horrified by what she sees.
Professor Orloff meets his end in the classroom he taught in, as Isaac comes back for an essential part of his plan. He also grabbed a snack while he was at it, leaving a bloody crime scene behind. That added to the shock factor.
6) Gideon

Gideon may not have been seen before Wednesday Season 2, but his name came up early in Season 1. He is the cult leader of Morning Song, the whole reason Bianca left her mother in the first place. Given that Biancaโs story played a bigger role in Season 2, it makes sense that characters from her past would make an appearance now.
However, viewers were probably not expecting all of the revelations that came from this plot arc. They were likewise probably not anticipating that his death would happen so soon. Yes, we all knew that Gideonโs death was only a matter of time (after his appearance), but things took a quick turn when Gideon and Barry were in the same room. As a reminder, Principal Dort is a pyro, so not exactly the type of person one should get into an argument with.
5) Donovan Galpin

Donovan Galpin played a pretty big role in Wednesday Season 1, being the sheriff (at the time) of Jericho and the unknowing father of a Hyde. He was the human threat of the series, ready to arrest anybody who crossed a line, Wednesday included.
Given his role in Season 1, his appearance at the beginning of Season 2 probably led a lot of viewers to assume heโd be playing a similarly large role. He may be a former sheriff now, but he still has skills and determination, not to mention the connection to his son.
That was not to be the case, as Donovan Galpin died shockingly early in the season, highlighting the threat of the new killer in town. Like the previous body found, Galpin was killed by a murder of crows, complete with having his eyes pecked out.
4) Principal Barry Dort

Remember how we mentioned that some of the roles at Nevermore Academy are seemingly cursed? That applies to being the headmaster of Nevermore Academy. Two seasons mean two dead headmasters, and thatโs not a great track record.
Something felt off about Principal Barry Dort from the start, and the second season slowly reveals how this whole thing is one grand con. Once that truth came out, it was inevitable that one of two things would happen to Barry: either heโd conveniently disappear or heโd end up dead.
What makes Principal Barry Dortโs death so surprising is the means by which he died. While Wednesday choreographed outing Dortโs scheme, she certainly didnโt plan his demise (not like that, at any rate), as Dort was turned to stone and then obliterated by a falling chandelier.
3) Isaac Night | Slurp

Isaac Night was a character of Nevermore legend, having supposedly been buried at the base of a tree. Pugsleyโs exploration into that kicks off a whole bunch of unforeseen events, starting with the resurrection of a zombie named Slurp.
In case it wasnโt obvious, Slurp is actually Isaac Night. Night immediately picks up his quest: to cure his sister, get revenge on the Addams Family, and recover his missing hand. However, in messing with the Addams Family (again), he paid the price. Again. Itโs almost like he canโt learn this lesson.
Isaac Night doesnโt die in a way that most might anticipate. Heโs not held at swordpoint, and he survives the nearby explosion. No, heโs killed by his own right hand, who had come to make a life for himself apart from Isaac. Thing ripped out Isaac’s machine heart and gained back the freedom he had come to love.
2) Marilyn Thornhill | Laurel Gates

Some know her as Marilyn Thornhill, others know her as Laurel Gates. Whatever you choose to call her, she was once a normie teacher at Nevermore Academy, but she had a dark secret. Her secret plan had her arrested and placed in an asylum, and that could have been the end of her story.
Wednesday Season 2 wasnโt content to leave this character lingering in the shadows. Thus, she was transferred to Willow Hill, the same place that Tyler was being held. Putting Master and Hyde in the same building was a bold choice, and things could have gone very poorly. Actually, they did, but Laurel Gates is one of the people who paid that price.
During the massive outbreak at Willow Will, Laurel Gates and Tyler once again cross paths, with her immediately trying to regain control of her Hyde. It doesnโt work, resulting in Laurelโs surprising death. This moment was probably a long time coming, but given Christina Ricciโs history with the franchise, many fans assumed this character would be around a bit longer.
1) Francoise Galpin

Itโs pretty hard to anticipate the death of somebody who has supposedly been dead for 15 years. Enter Francoise Galpin, the mysterious patient trapped in Willow Hillโs basement. As it turns out, she had not been dead this whole time, and her escape changed the course of Wednesday Season 2.
Francoise has always seen her Hyde nature as a curse, which explains why her brother worked so hard to find a cure. However, when the moment of truth came, it wasnโt Francoise who was meant to receive the cure, but Tyler. She wanted to force the cure on her son, even if it meant her death.
Unsurprisingly, this leads to a dramatic fight, as both mother and son transform into Hydes and battle it out on the Nevermore rooftops. Technically, Tyler doesnโt kill his mother; he actually tries to save her, in the end. This doesnโt stop Francoise Galpin from falling to her death.
Wednesday is available to stream on Netflix.
