We are happy to report that WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley has successfully undergone hip replacement surgery. Foley posted the good news on his Twitter page earlier today.

Late last year it was rumored that Foley was in dire need of the surgery as he was reportedly in great pain each week while travelling with Raw as the on-screen General Manager. This came as little surprise to anyone who ever saw Foley wrestle. Human bodies aren’t designed to be thrown off 20 foot high steel cages. Foley commented on his status on his personal Facebook page in December.

“Luckily, I am used to the constant pain โ€“ and it’s not like I wasn’t warned by almost every guy in the wrestling business that the moves I was doing as a younger man were going to come back to haunt me. Well, they’re haunting me! The weight-loss has helped considerably; without it, and the DDP yoga, I don’t believe I could even get through airports. But the constant travel means constant pain. I love being the Raw GM, and I will miss it when it’s gone. But my quality of life will probably improve when Stephanie and WWE decide to go in a new direction.”

While it was sad to see Foley removed as the GM before WrestleMania, most fans were just happy he was going to finally get his health in order, and in wrestling farewells are never permanent. Foley also revealed that he was never under contract with WWE during his most recent run and was only working “on a handshake deal.”

Staying true to his Hardcore roots, Foley was already back at work after the surgery editing his new book.

Many of Foley’s wrestling peers have taken to social media to give their well wishes to The Hardcore Legend, with one of his former ECW brethren even telling Mick to stop “selling” the injury.

We wish “Mrs. Foley’s Baby Boy” a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back with the WWE in the not to distant future.
