There are many who fondly remember the days when Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns ran roughshod over the rest of the WWE during the heyday of the SHIELD. WWE knows this and has continued to tease a reuniting of the popular stable on recent episodes of Monday Night RAW and pay-per-views like Roadblock: End of the Line.

It would require some shuffling around of the roster of course, as they are currently split across both brands, but that is easily remedied. The bigger issue would be how to best utilize them once they bring them back together, as you don’t have these kinds of guaranteed pops very often.

Here are a few things we’d like to see from a SHIELD reunion.

For The SHIELD To Stay On RAW

The brand split made it unlikely that the SHIELD would reunite any time soon, as Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are currently on Monday Night RAW and Dean Ambrose is starring on Smackdown LIVE! The company continues to tease it heavily, though, so it just seems like a matter of time. That said, if they do get back together, it needs to be on RAW.

The tag team division on RAW has a bevy of opportunities for the team to shine, and all the storyline resentment that is slowly bringing them back together is centered on the Authority and management on RAW.

RAW needs the SHIELD and the SHIELD needs RAW.

The Ascension Of The Club

There is plenty of underutilized talent on both brands, but one of the most puzzling and high profile examples is The Club.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were riding high at New Japan Pro Wrestling and came in with plenty of legacy and fan fare. Since the initial splash, though, they’ve floundered a bit on the card. It’s not like they’re unpopular by any means, and they still hold their own in the ring when given the opportunity, but it feels in many ways that WWE doesn’t know what to do with them.

Enter the SHIELD, who could get the most out of their talents, providing the reemerging anti-hero babyfaces with a perfect heel stable to compete against.

A New Day Feud

The other big stable on Monday Night RAW is the preachers of positivity themselves The New Day, and a feud with a returning SHIELD would be guaranteed entertainment.

The New Day wasn’t around when the SHIELD was making their presence felt in WWE, so getting a full on New Day SHIELD feud would be a fan’s dream come true. The aerial gymnastics of Rollins vs Kingston, the brute strength of Reigns vs Big E, and the conveying craziness of Woods vs Ambrose are all aspects of a classic feud in the making.

The True End Of The Authority

Everyone is pretty universal in their fatigue of the whole “Authority” angle on Monday Night RAW, and this would be a way to segue out of that era once and for all.

The SHIELD all have a beef with Triple H and Stephanie in some way or another, and after reuniting they would set their focus on removing her from power. Their main roadblock would be The Club, who Stephanie has enlisted for reinforcements.

After that series of matches and power struggles, getting the heel combo of Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens out of the championship equation would be the next logical step, and that is when Triple H would return. After that reaches its natural point, it would be time to choose which SHIELD member gets to wear the belt around his waist after a one on one with Triple H, and whatever the end result of that defines who leads the company as its top star going forward.

Whichever route they decide to go, the Authority angle would officially be put to rest.
