Alan Tudyk has already played a space pilot in Joss Whedon’s Firefly and Serenity, and he’s visiting a galaxy far, far away in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but there’s still another universe he’d like to explore.
Speaking Fandango, Tudyk was asked if there was a Marvel Studios film franchise he’d like to join. Tudyk immediately responded that he’d want to join director James Gunn on a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. That’s partly just because he and Gunn are friends who have worked together in the past, but also freewheeling space-adventure with a ragtag band of underdog heroes is pretty much the definition of Tudyk’s wheelhouse. Tudyk’s Firefly, Serenity, and Con Man co-star, Nathan Fillion, even had a cameo in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Gunn has since responded to Tudyk’s comment, saying on twitter that “Alan Tudyk is my friend and I’m always on the lookout for ways to work with him again! Our first two team ups are masterpieces!”
Could this be a very public casting call for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Time will tell.
In the meantime, fans can hear Tudyk’s voice in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, opening Dec. 16.
