Speaking during the Marvel’s The Defenders Hall H panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego, stars Finn Jones (Iron Fist) and Mike Colter (Luke Cage) said fans should expect the unexpected when it comes to the heroes’ first meeting.

“I think that its a little bit surprising, because everyone knows us as being BFFs and actually the first time we see each other there’s conflict, and it grounds and roots the characters into reality a little bit better, which I think is really interesting,” Jones said.

“I think it’s just one of those things where Luke has the advantage of years of experience,” Colter added. “He’s a little older than Danny, he’s sort of been around, done that. He’s been in prison! He’s got some miles, he’s got some experiencesโ€ฆ I’m from the streets, and that’s where we operate.”

The team of “Power Man and Iron Fist” is a fan-favorite friendship from the Marvel Comics universe. Colter and Jones debuted in their respective roles in their characters’ respective solo Netflix series, Marvel’s Luke Cage and Marvel’s Iron Fist. Both series have been renewed for second seasons, though Iron Fist will see significant creative changes, including a new showrunner.
