The recently renewed Iron Fist is getting a new showrunner. Marvel Studios announced that Raven Metzner will replace Scott Buck as the head of the Netflix series. Metzner previously was a co-executive producer for Sleepy Hollow and also wrote the script for the 2005 Elektra movie back when Fox owned the rights to the Daredevil characters.

Metzner replaces Scott Buck, who moved on to become showrunner of the Marvel Studios series Inhumans, which comes out this fall on ABC.

"Raven's love of all things Iron Fist and his extensive knowledge of martial arts films made him the perfect choice to continue telling the adventures of Danny Rand and Colleen Wing," said Marvel Television executive Jeph Loeb. "Season One and The Defenders are only the beginning of this fantastic action packed tale."

While details are scarce about the upcoming season of Iron Fist, Loeb confirmed at SDCC that the show would feature Colleen Wing teaming up with Misty Knight, mirroring their famed "Daughters of the Dragon" partnership in the comics.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to seeing Finn Jones and several other characters from Iron Fist in The Defenders, which debuts on Netflix on August 18.

The Defenders stars Charlie Cox (Daredevil/Matt Murdock), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Finn Jones (Iron Fist), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Sigourney Weaver (Alexandra), Elodie Yung (Elektra Natchios), Babs Olusanmokun (Sowande), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Rachel Taylor (Trish Walker), Scott Glenn (Stick), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), Debbi Morgan (Delores), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page).

Daredevil seasons 1 and 2, Jessica Jones season 1, Luke Cage season 1, and Iron Fist season 1 are all available on Netflix now, while The Defenders is expected later in the year. The Punisher does not currently have a release date. Netflix has announced a second season of Jessica Jones and a third season of Daredevil, but no release dates have been announced for those either.
