Shueisha’s Jump Festa, one of the biggest events of the year, is a major showcase for the anime and manga industry and was recently held, unveiling new information on several anime. From confirming the release window of Bleach to sharing new updates on Haikyu!!, the event was filled with exciting reveals. That said, while Jump Festa was successful, it would have been even more fulfilling had some of the announcements fans were expecting been revealed.

Specifically, there were three pieces of news fans were expecting from three different series. For one, fans were hoping for the long-awaited announcement of its anime adaptation, while the other two were expected to confirm the future of their respective series in certain ways.
3) The Anime Adaptation of Kagurabachi

Kagurabachi, the Shonen Jump series considered the next big thing under the magazine’s umbrella, especially after the conclusion of My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen, has been running for more than two years. With enough material for an anime adaptation and Jump Festa being Shueisha’s biggest event, fans were increasingly hopeful for an official anime announcement for this global sensation in 2023.
However, fans were disappointed, as no major new shonen anime adaptations were announced at the event at all. Kagurabachi is widely expected to be the next big Shonen Jump anime, but with no news yet, fans will have to wait even longer.
2) Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 Is Still Far Away

The Demon Slayer Super Stage was the first event on Day 2 of Jump Festa 2026, and fans were expecting the second and most ambitious day to open with the series confirming details about Part 2 of the Demon Slayer movie trilogy. However, there were no updates at all, as the panel was used solely to share other miscellaneous information.
This was unfortunate, as all eyes were on the panel with hopes of seeing some news about the second film in the Demon Slayer movie series. With no announcement made, it appears the film may take a long time, and fans might not get to see it until the latter half of 2027.
1) One Piece and Netflix Still Keep Fans in the Dark on Their Most Ambitious Project

One Piece took the final Super Stage on the last day of Jump Festa 2026, rightfully so, as it remains Shueisha and Shonen Jump’s biggest project. Fans were naturally expecting updates on the second season of the anime and the live-action series, which were delivered along with new teasers. However, all eyes were on this stage in hopes of learning more about the project first announced two years ago: the anime remake.
Netflix’s anime remake, titled The One Piece, was announced more than two years ago, and fans were expecting substantial new information, especially since the project has seen almost no major updates during that time. Instead, the absence of any news left fans disappointed, raising concerns about the project’s direction. Ironically, the remake is meant to address the original anime’s pacing issues, but such prolonged delays risk undermining that purpose. Had the remake, or any of the aforementioned updates, been revealed, Jump Festa 2026 would have emerged as an even more exciting event.
