One of 2026’s Biggest Games Confirmed PS5 Pro Enhanced

One of 2026’s biggest games has been confirmed as PS5 Pro Enhanced. The PS5 Pro automatically runs every game better than the PS5, or at least it’s supposed to. One of the reasons Sony is preparing a major upgrade to PS5 Pro in 2026 is that it has had trouble demonstrating the console’s power difference and making a case on why the luxury, premium PlayStation machine is worth spending $800 on. Meanwhile, the number of “PS5 Pro Enhanced” games has been far from staggering. For those that don’t know, “Enhanced” means the developer has gone out of its way to make use of the extra power of the PS5 Pro, providing improvements and upgrades exclusively for owners of the machine.

Looking ahead, there aren’t many known PS5 Pro Enhanced games. This is because not only are many not supporting the machine to this extent, but even those that are have not made it a priority in communicating what these enhancements are. And even when an upcoming game is announced as a PS5 Pro Enhanced, often the enhancements are not revealed, let alone detailed. That said, we do have some details on this new PS5 Pro Enhanced game, which is 007 First Light.

Some Nice Upgrades

Recently, IO Interactive — the Danish studio behind the Hitman series — announced that 007 First Light, a new James Bond game, is releasing on March 27, 2026. And when it releases, it will have a few PS5 Pro enhancements for PlayStation fans to enjoy. Right now, the PlayStation Store makes no mention of the game being PS5 Pro Enhanced, which illuminates the aforementioned problem about poor communication involving the PS5 Pro games. However, IO Interactive and PlayStation did confirm via the latter’s official website that there will be something extra for PS5 Pro owners.

More specifically, IO Interactive promises “optimized console performance” that will include 60 FPS not just in Performance Mode, but in Quality Mode as well. This will apparently not be an option on the regular PS5. “Advanced ray tracing,” featuring ray-traced reflections, shadows, and high-quality global illumination, is also promised. Lastly, Sony promises some usage of the console’s PSSR, which will help maximize the resolution and increase it.

These upgrades obviously are nothing too crazy, but it’s also early. There’s a good chance PS5 Pro users will get more than this, it just hasn’t all been ironed out, and thus won’t be revealed until closer to launch. In the meantime, PS5 Pro users can also look forward to upgrades on an upcoming Xbox release. Those looking for something right now, on the other hand, will find one of last month’s bigger releases, Mafia: The Old Country, was released with some serious PS5 Pro upgrades.
