Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds’ Sixth and Final DLC Character Leaked Ahead of Release

2025 is bringing us a surprising number of new racing games. We had Mario Kart World launching alongside the Switch 2, and Kirby Air Riders on the way. And of course, there’s the racing game featuring everyone’s favorite speedy hedgehog. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is headed our way on September 25th, and it’s bringing a solid list of characters already. Several of the game’s Season Pass DLC characters have already been confirmed, and now, the secret about that final character might be out.

The roster in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds features several characters from the Sonic universe. But part of the fun of this racing game is its crossover character content, bringing other racers to the course. We already knew that a few Minecraft characters would make an appearance, along with the sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea. Now, thanks to what seems to be a physical copy that arrived early, the final DLC might have been revealed.

New Leak Suggests Beloved Capcom Character Is Headed to Sonic Racing

On Reddit, user @Wrong-Minute-1319 shared what looks like an early physical copy of Sonic Racing. In the image, we can see a flyer that looks to be a promo for the game’s Season Pass. This pass will include the character DLC planned for the game’s first season, many of which have already been revealed. If this image is legit, it looks like Mega Man will be the sixth DLC character for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

Zooming in on the image, it sure does look like someone got their hands on a physical copy of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds early. This does tend to happen with physical releases, as sometimes shipping goes awry. The game insert flyer shows icons for the game’s DLC, many of which are already confirmed by SEGA. The list includes:

  • Minecraft
  • Spongebob Squarepants
  • Pac-Man
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
  • Avatar: Legends
  • Mega Man

Most of these characters don’t come as a surprise, as SEGA has confirmed several of them already. We already knew, for instance, that we’d see Minecraft in October and that SpongeBob would arrive in November. Though we don’t have a specific timeline for them, Avatar: Legends and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have appeared in prior trailers for the game, as well. That makes Mega Man the only surprise here, but it’s certainly a welcome one if true.

Mega Man is an iconic and longstanding character who first arrived in Capcom’s 1987 release of the first Mega Man game. Even if you’ve never played one of the games, you’d likely recognize this blue robot figure – especially since this isn’t Mega Man’s first crossover appearance. He has previously been a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as well as fighting games like Marvel vs. Capcom.

This will be Mega Man’s first racing crossover, though he has previously starred in his own racing game, Mega Man: Battle & Chase. Since this game didn’t come out in the U.S. until years after its initial release, however, many fans will likely race with Mega Man for the first time if he does show up in Sonic Racing.

Though this does look to be a legitimate image, this information hasn’t yet been confirmed by SEGA. So, you should still consider this unverified until a Mega Man DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is officially revealed. As it looks like this flyer is intended to arrive alongside the game’s actual physical release on September 25th, that confirmation may be headed your way now if you already ordered a copy.
