The deadline for the most recent free Steam game has passed, but there are more coming. More specifically, across the month of September, there will be three PC games given away for free to Steam users. One of these giveaways will happen on September 3, the second on September 17, and the third doesn’t have a date beyond the promise of “coming soon.”

The first of these three games is coming on September 3. More specifically, on the third day of next month, Clid the Snail will be given away for free. Then, on September 17, another PC game will be made free. This time it will be Human Fall Flat. And then the giveaways will conclude with free Steam codes for The Surge. This is the giveaway currently without a date. All of these giveaways are going to be via Lenuvo. This means those interested will need a Legion Gaming Community account, through Lenuvo. The good news is that this costs nothing. The bad news is the giveaways are drops, and limited at that, so it is possible you could miss out on the free games. However, if past drops from Lenuvo or any indicator, those who are prompt will have no problem grabbing a free code.
The Surge
The Surge is a 2017 action RPG from developer Deck13 Interactive and publisher Focus Home Interactive, which got a sequel in 2019 called The Surge 2. Since then, the series has been dormant. That said, for those who enjoy Dark Souls-esque games, The Surge was one of the first solid mimics. To this end, it has a 76% approval rating over on Steam, where it normally costs $14.99.
Clid the Snail
Clid the Snail is a top-down shooter with a dark-fantasy design released in 2021 by developer Weird Beluga Studio and publisher Plaion. According to Steam user reviews, which have the game at a 75% approval rating, Clid the Snail offers a great world and an interesting story, but struggles with gameplay at times. To this end, those who prefer gameplay over everything else may not find it of interest. Normally, Steam users have to fork over $19.99 to find this out.
Human Fall Flat
Human Fall Flat is by far the most popular game of this trio. In fact, it is one of the best-selling games of all time, having shipped over 50 million units. If you aren’t one of these 50 million plus, you will soon be able to remedy this and bypass its normal $19.99 asking price. For those who know nothing about the game, Human Fall Flat is an action-adventure, hijinks-fueled game that can be played solo or up to eight other players. Developed by No Brakes Games and published by Curve Games, it has a 95% approval rating on Steam. As a result, it has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, the highest rating a game can earn on Steam. It also has a sequel in development.
If none of these free Steam games tickle your fancy, or if you need something while you wait for these, there is a free Steam game that is quietly doing massive numbers on the PC platform.
