The Best Tomb Raider Game of the Past 25 Years Is Now Only $3

What is widely considered the best Tomb Raider game to come about since the turn of the century is now deeply discounted to a price under $3. While we haven’t had any new adventures with Lara Croft in quite some time, many Tomb Raider games from the past remain readily accessible across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. Now, one of the most acclaimed games in the entirety of the saga has reached a new low price that’s way too good to pass up.

As of today, Rise of the Tomb Raider has seen its price plummet on Steam. Typically retailing for $29.99 on the PC platform, the 2015 Tomb Raider entry is now being sold at a staggering 90% off for only $3.99. This deal is one of many that are part of Steam’s new Autumn Sale, which means that this promotion will last until next week on October 6th. At that time, the game will return to its typical retail price.

This Is One of the Greatest Tomb Raider Games Ever

While everyone has their own favorite Tomb Raider game, it cannot be argued that Rise of the Tomb Raider isn’t one of the most well-received entries in the entire series. Originally released in 2015 on Xbox One, the sequel to 2013’s Tomb Raider reboot later came to PlayStation and Xbox platforms. Across all of these releases, the game saw an aggregate review score between 86/100 and 88/100 based on data from Metacritic. In fact, the only game to achieve a higher rating is the original Tomb Raider from 1997.

Generally speaking, Rise of the Tomb Raider improved upon everything that was excellent about 2013’s Tomb Raider. It featured many of the same core mechanics and systems, but expanded upon the world and added more ingenious puzzles than before. If you haven’t played any of the games from the most recent Tomb Raider trilogy, this is without question the one that you should give a try.

Other Great Deals on Steam

Of course, since this is the Autumn Sale, there are a ton of other incredible deals currently happening on Steam. DOOM Eternal is now selling for a mere $4, while Mafia III is down to $3 itself. On the higher end, Monster Hunter Wilds is now going for $49 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is sitting at $49.
