Did You Spot These Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Mistakes In The Super Bowl Spot?

Since it was the first Super Bowl to be decided in overtime, yesterday's game between the New England Patriots (who won!) and Atlanta Falcons (who choked!) was incredibly thrilling. Of course, it was also thrilling because Marvel released a brand new television spot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The trailer, which was set to a hot remix of Fleetwood Mac's 1977 song "The Chain," pretty much had everything you could have wanted. It perfectly balanced action and comedy, and I especially enjoyed the humorous bit where Rocket translates Baby Groot's NSFW "I am Groot" message to Yondu. We also got our first look at Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, as well as more scene-stealing footage of Mantis (Pom Klementieff) — who marvels at Baby Groot's cuteness and gets clocked with some sort of debris.

So with that out of the way, did you notice these mistakes in the Super Bowl spot?

Picture above is a close-up shot of Ayesha. When she asks the Guardians, "Just who in the hell do you think you are?," you'll notice that the High Priestess of the genetically-perfect people called the Sovereign isn't covered from head-to-toe in gold as she should be. There's a portion of her head garb, on the side of her neck, that is purple. Yet, when we look at that same section on opposite side, it is gold. Whoops!

The second flaw in the trailer comes when Mantis looks upon Baby Groot and says with a smile, "He's so cute." You'll notice a discoloration, change in texture underneath her bottom lip and around her chin. It looks like a portion of the Mantis facial prosthetic, which is probably applied in pieces, is missing. It was probably done on purpose during filming so that Klementieff's face could be more animated, but apparently, the digital artists haven't gotten around to correcting it yet. Or, they overlooked it.

Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (Spectre) as Drax; Vin Diesel (Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing).
