While Marvel's upcoming Civil War II will divide the heroes of the Marvel Universe, but humankind isn't the only section of the populace that will be split in half.
Civil War: X-Men #1, written by Cullen Bunn with art by Andrea Broccardo, will center around two other parts of the Marvel Universe, those being Mutantkind and the Inhumans. The Terrigen Mists are responsible for birthing new Inhumans at an unbelievable pace, and it comes at the detriment of Mutantkind. While the other heroes are fighting over a difference of ideals, namely whether to use a new Inhuman's ability to profile the future as a deterrent to crime or to let things happen in their natural order, Mutants are fighting for their very survival.
Leading them is none other than Magneto, who fears that this person's ability will be just the thing to tip the scales in the Inhuman's favor. He's not about to let that happen, and will launch a full-scale assault against them, with a number of allies at his side, including Psylocke and Sabertooth.
You can check out the full preview in the gallery, and while the Extraordinary X-Men show up in force to stand against Magneto's squad, don't expect things to be that simple. This war will lead to some surprising decisions, and Magneto will have a few surprising allies along the way.
Included in the preview are four of the launch variants, including ones by Greg Land, Phil Noto, John Tyler Christopher, and Skottie Young. Civil War II: X-Men #1 hits stores on June 15th.
